Vehicles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities reported they were alerted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities said they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.

A senior representative commented the attack made him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
