19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional victory, took control to push for a decider.
He defended 4 early break points in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
